Today saw the launch of the 76-day charity book auction Children in Read:

Pudsey Bear reading a book

Children in Read is now in its 8th year and raised a whopping £24,888 for the British charity, Children in Need back in 2021.

It was founded by the amazing Paddy Heron, who organises and runs the event every year.

I'm sure you'll agree that there are some truly wonderful books up for grabs in this year's auction. They are so good that I've already placed six bids myself.

My recommendations

What an excellent opportunity to own such a rare book. This is already fetching a good price but is bound to go for a lot more before the auction's end.

A true classic in the making. This will be a great collector item that I really hope I can win.

A tremendous little adventurous paperback that will be worth every penny it raises.

Another excellent fantasy paperback that is full of adventure. It has Sky Whales; that alone is enough for me to bid.

Another classic in the making. Black Panther meets X-Men. Also, the lucky winner will get a custom pin badge.

Lot # 422

That's right, my own little picture book, The Spaghetti Yeti, is appearing in this year's auction.

I would really love it if you all could bid strongly on this one.

If the bids go over £50, I'll include a custom illustration along with a dedication for the auction winner.

If the bids go over £75, the winner will also get a free copy of my next book, Spaghetti Yeti and the Seahorse Bandits, when published.

Good luck and please get your bids in now!
